We saved you a seat.
Here's everything you need for your first Sunday at Flint River: when to come, where to go, and what happens once you're inside.
Step by step, from the parking lot to the pew
No guesswork. Here's exactly what a Sunday morning at Flint River looks like.
Let us know you're coming
Arrive and park
We're at 213 Winchester Road, with parking right outside the front doors. Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early so you can settle in without rushing.
Get a warm welcome
Members of our Welcome Ministry and ushers will greet you, answer questions, and help you find a seat. If you filled out the form below, they'll be expecting you.
Sunday School
Men meet in the sanctuary. Women meet in the Charlie III & Mother Lue Humphrey Fellowship Hall. There are also classes for young adults and youth. Visitors are always welcome to join in.
Morning Worship
Worship includes prayer, music from our choir and musicians, the offering, and a message from the Word of God. You don't need to know any songs or routines. Just come and worship.
Say hello
Stick around to meet Pastor Miller and our church family. We'd love to learn your name and pray with you about anything on your heart.
Taking care of the details
Kids & youth
Youth Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:00 with Mother Patricia McDonald. On 3rd Sundays there's Children's Church, and our young people lead worship.
Need a ride?
Our Transportation Ministry helps people get to church. Call (256) 776-9688 to ask about a ride, or mention it in the form below.
Safe & secure
Our Security Ministry helps keep everyone safe when we gather, so you and your family can focus on worship.
Things people often ask
What should I wear?
Whatever you're comfortable in. You'll see everything from Sunday best to business casual. God looks at the heart, and so do we.
What does "Primitive Baptist" mean?
In the 1830s, Baptist churches divided over new practices such as mission boards. Congregations that kept the older, simpler New Testament pattern of worship became known as "Old School" or "Primitive" Baptists. Primitive here means "original," not "outdated." Today we're a member of the Consolidated Flint River and Running Water Primitive Baptist Association. You can read our full Articles of Faith.
Do I have to be a member to attend?
Not at all. Everyone is welcome at worship, Sunday School, Midweek Recharge, and our special events. Come as often as you like before you make any decisions.
How does Communion work?
We observe the Lord's Supper on the 2nd Sunday of January, April, July, and October, followed by the washing of the saints' feet (John 13). Following our Articles of Faith, Communion is shared by baptized members of the church. Guests are warmly welcome to stay and witness this special time of worship.
Is there something for my kids?
Yes. Youth Sunday School meets every week at 9:00 a.m. Children's Church is held on 3rd Sundays, and every July we host a STEAM Summer Camp. See Youth & Children.
How do I become a member?
Talk with Pastor Miller or any of our deacons after service. Membership at Flint River is by profession of faith in Jesus Christ and baptism by immersion. When you join, you're connected with a deacon who helps care for your household, so no one slips through the cracks. You can see our recent baptisms too.
Tell us you're coming
It's completely optional, but it helps us welcome you well. We'll have someone looking out for you, and we'll answer any questions ahead of time.
